Advancing place research
Topos Design Lab is an international community of scholars who embrace the engagement, dialogue, and application of place to advance human wellbeing, environments, and society. Drawing from a range of fields and single and interdisciplinary approaches, our initiatives focus on facilitating place in meaningful research to overcome the barriers of place in ourselves, our communities, and our regions.
Thinking about place
Topos Design Lab works with people who think about place. Our publications span disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives, contributing to the conceptual, theoretical, and applied dimensions of place-based research.
Talking about place
Our members are active in regular conferences, public lectures, seminars, and public engagement activities that examine contemporary issues and developments in place-based research.
Creating place
Creative works that engage with place as subject, context, or method, demonstrating the contribution of artistic and creative practice to place-based inquiry.
